Accepted File Formats
Not Sure We Can Print From Your File?
If you are not sure that your file will work, you can send it to us and we will examine it to see if there are any major flaws that would prevent us from printing your job.

Lancaster House Printing and Design prefers the following file formats for printing your job:
Please include all screen and printers fonts and all images must accompany the file.  All jobs must have an 1/8 inch bleed if ink is to go to the edge (see Bleeds section for explanation).
  • Quark XPress (version 4.1)
  • Freehand (up to version 10)
  • Adobe Photoshop (versions 6)
    Save a flattened copy of your original Photoshop (PSD) document, make sure the color mode is set for CMYK process. and be certain a 1/8" bleed on all four sides has been supplied (bleeds should be accommodated in the Photoshop file before design begins). Keep PSD file for editing purposes these working files may be needed to make big changes or produce desired result.

  • Acrobat PDF
    Export to Acrobat PDF from your design application of choice, please make sure that all elements in the design are CMYK and/or grayscale, supply a 1/8" bleed on all four sides (if applicable), embed ALL fonts, and output to print or press resolution (300 dpi). Lancaster House Printing and Design cannot guarantee color consistency if PDF is submitted. Please be sure to review your PDF for accuracy before submitting.
  • Adobe InDesign (version 1.5)
  • Adobe Illustrator (versions 8)
  • Adobe PageMaker 6.5
File Formats
We enjoy printing from native working files but we will accept other formats. If you are scanning the images from photographs it is best to save them as tiff format. This image format will preserve the color and sharpness of your pictures the best.

File Formats Not Accepted:
Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, or any application not featured above.
